Warranty Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions (Version: Dec 2024)

At Variety Cars, we are committed to providing our customers with peace of mind, which is why we include a free in-house engine and gearbox warranty for a period of 1 to 3 months, depending on the vehicle’s age, mileage, and price. While not a legally required offering, this warranty is provided as a goodwill gesture to support our customers in rare and genuine cases of unexpected issues.

This warranty is not a replacement for extended paid warranty products available in the market but serves to cover unforeseen engine and gearbox-related faults. Please carefully read the terms and conditions below:

Key Terms and Conditions:

Vehicle Maintenance:
The vehicle must be maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule and specifications.

Pre-Approval Requirement:
Before any repairs are carried out under the warranty, prior approval must be obtained from us. We will only cover repairs authorised with an approval number issued by us.

Diagnostics & Estimates:
All claims must include a professional diagnostics report with a detailed breakdown of repair costs (parts and labour) and the reason for the failure. Jobs carried out without prior approval will not be reimbursed. Diagnostic charges are not covered under warranty and shall be paid by the buyer. We don’t charge for in-house diagnostics.

Labour Costs & Authorised Garages:
Repairs must be completed at VAT-registered garages authorised by us, with a maximum labour rate capped at £75 per hour.

Repair Estimates:
If the repair estimate is under £500, it will be approved promptly.

For estimates over £500, repairs may need to be conducted at our approved partner garages or at our base location.

Warranty Coverage:
Covers engine and gearbox only, including parts and labour.

Limited to one claim with a maximum claim value of £1,500.

Claim Timelines:
Claims must remain active with regular communication. If we do not receive updates within 7 days, the claim will be automatically closed.

Return to Base Repairs:
For cases requiring repairs at our base, it is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to return the car to us within 7 days. Failure to do so will result in claim closure.

Diagnostics by Main Dealers:
In certain cases, we may request diagnostics from a main dealer to verify the issue.

Exclusions:
Any parts not related to the engine or gearbox.

Wear-and-tear components, consumables (e.g., batteries, tyres, brake pads), breakdowns, transportation, or recovery costs.

Fraudulent or Invalid Claims:
Claims deemed fraudulent or invalid will be rejected. Misuse of the vehicle or claims involving unverified garages (e.g., friends or relatives) will also result in rejection.

Fraudulent Activity Consequences:
If a fraudulent claim is identified, we may:

Deny the claim and recover any paid sums.

Terminate the warranty immediately.

Vehicle Rejections:
Under the 30-day short-term right to reject, a full refund will be issued if a pre-existing fault is proven. Usage-based deductions may apply at £1 per mile plus a £250 admin and restocking fee for other cases.

After 30 days, repairs are covered under the warranty terms for the duration of the warranty period, covering engine and gearbox faults only.
